Product Description

NOTE: This is a complete shock replacement kit of front and rear adjustable sport shocks the Mercedes Benz Geländewagen (G-Wagen). These shocks import directly from Germany, so delivery time may vary from one to two weeks.

Off Road Center (ORC) is a German company that manufactures a wide array of products for G-Wagens.

The ORC suspension kit is made especially for cars with higher weight or higher load, like expedition cars or rally cars.

Bilstein has private-labeled these sport shocks for ORC. With 8 adjsutment settings, the base stiffness is setting 4 on the dial. This is also the same stiffness as that of the special shock absorbers(no. 3285-020-0/3285-030-0).

Please note that ORC indicates suspension comfort and performance depends on the combination of shock absorbers and springs. They designed their springs and shocks with the companies Eibach and Bilstein, respectively, so that they would work together perfectly.

The shock absorbers perform differently with the original springs depending on the model of G-Class.

G55/G63/G65: original shocks are very rigid. The ORC adjustable sport shocks make the ride noticeably more comfortable.

G500 up to 2005/2006 (approximately): the original suspension is softer, so with the ORC Adjustable Sport Shocks, the ride gets a little bit stiffer, but not less comfortable

G500 starting from 2006/2007 (approximately): the original suspension is harder, so the ride gets more comfortable with the ORC Adjustable Sport Shocks installed.

A Note on Adjustment

There is a small wheel at the side on one end of the  front shock absorbers (3285-025). It can be adjusted by hand (picture below). The basic setting is 4. The lower setting, 0-3, is softer. The higher setting, 5-8, is stiffer.

The rear shock (3285-035) has an adjustment dial in a different location. See pic below.

Coil Spring Option:

Consider purchasing ORC's coil springs to complement these shocks.
